• Quality Policy Van Hee has clear objectives and commitment to quality, which are documented by Management in the Quality Policy Statement. Mission Statement: "To be the Leading Suppliers of Training to the Transport and Distribution Industries." The aims and objectives of Van Hee are to provide an efficient training facility to fully satisfy the requirements of all customers - internal, private, corporate and public sector. The goals and aspirations of the organisation are to expand its services to meet customer demands on a national basis. It remains the duty of every employee to uphold quality in order to meet ever-increasing customer expectations. To assist in promoting the goals and aspirations of Van Hee a written commitment has been given to work towards accreditation as an Investor in People. This policy is approved by and has the full commitment of the Managing Director and management of Van Hee. This policy is implemented and understood throughout Van Hee by the methods detailed in the Quality Procedures. back to top ^ The directors of the company regard the promotion of health and safety as a mutual objective for management and employees at all levels. The directors are committed to the continuous development of all health & safety related features of the business including the development of all physical and human resources with an impact on safety. The safety of the learner is central to all training activities of the business. Our policy is to take all reasonable steps to prevent personal injury and damage to property and to protect everyone from foreseeable hazards. This includes employees, the general public and subcontractors who may be affected by our work activities. We will operate a Health and Safety Management System based upon the best practice outlined in HSG65. In particular this company has a responsibility; • To provide and maintain safe
and healthy working conditions, • To provide such information,
training and supervision as is necessary • To make available all necessary
safety devices and protective equipment • To maintain a continuing
interest in health and safety matters applicable to the company’s
activities, Employees have a duty to co-operate in the operation of this policy: • By working safely and efficiently • By using the protective equipment provided • By reporting incidents that have led or may lead to injury or damage • By adhering to company procedures • By assisting in the investigation
of accidents with the objective The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement the policy are set out in the Health and Safety Procedures. The policy will be kept up to date. Van Hee's policy is: Legislation Energy Waste Management Land Management Contractors and Suppliers Organisation and Management back to top ^ Safeguarding and Vulnerable Adult Policy Van Hee has developed this policy to provide and maintain safe and healthy conditions for all learners and particularly those classified as Children or Vulnerable Adults. This policy document should be read in conjunction with Van Hee's Health and Safety Policy. Safeguarding (as defined in the Joint Inspector's Safeguarding Report) is taken to mean 'All agencies working with children, young people and their families take all reasonable measures to ensure that the risk of harm to children's welfare is minimised.' For Van Hee this relates to 16-18 year olds following Apprenticeship Programmes and 19+ adults who may be vulnerable. Responsibilities It is the duty of all employees of Van Hee to follow this policy. Legislation Definition of Terms This policy refers to all children or vulnerable adults regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality or religion. Recruitment and Selection Staff Training Staff are advised of the following in respect of young people/ vulnerable adults: • Any concerns about the welfare
of individuals should be raised, • Staff should share concerns
with appropriate staff principally our • All concerns raised should
be treated in confidence Staff are also advised that, to avoid placing themselves in a vulnerable position (and to avoid any possible allegations themselves), they should: • Not spend time in a one to one situation (wherever possible work in the view of other adults) • Not give lifts to or from work/ placements or the training centre • Avoid any personal contact outside of work. Liaison with Partner Organisations We will agree and implement workable attendance, reporting, monitoring and emergency procedures in partnership with the child/vulnerable primary contract learning provider. Where requested, we will supply to the primary contract learning provider copies of CRB checks for our staff. Any plans to offer any off-site curricular or extra-curricular activities will be referred to the primary contract learning provider for formal consideration of whether there is any increased risk to the health, safety and welfare of their learners, staff or others who may be involved. This includes potential PR activities which could involve learners.
