As a division of Van Hee Transport, we have trained over 23,000 people over the last 20 years, at all levels from front line operatives to management. We currently train over 1,200 people annually for around 200 regular customers, helping individuals to find opportunities in logistics, while helping employers recruit and train new and existing staff.

Transport and logistics training has become increasingly more involved and complex and will become more so with the introduction of the European Driver Training Directive for PCV drivers in 2008 and for LGV drivers by 2009 putting further demands upon employers.

As specialists in Transport and Distribution training, there isn't much we can't provide. Whatever the case, a training plan will be tailored to your exact requirements.

for employers
Companies engaged in the transport and distribution sector have regular and ongoing needs to update operational skills and take preventative measures with regards to Health and Safety.

Changes in legislation will put further demands upon employers. The introduction of the European Driver Training Directive for PCV drivers and for LGV drivers by 2009 will require all drivers to have regular and updated training, and changes in the requirements for carrying hazardous goods also requires special training.

Van Hee can keep all employers, large or small operators, abreast of legislation and staff skills up-to-date. Furthermore, our consultancy can highlight specific areas of an operation that need special attention by making recommendations and action planning.

Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) courses, for instance, can show drivers how to drive in a fuel efficient way proven to save fuel costs.

Training can be undertaken at our specialist training facility at Felling, Tyne and Wear, or at an employer's site to minimise employee down-time.

Van Hee can access a wide range of financial assistance for employers for logistics training.

sustainability and the environment
It is not just the large corporate companies who are constantly under pressure to come up with new and innvative ways of reducing their overall environmental footprint. All supplier companies, in order to satisfy the increasingly demanding Supply Chain specifications, will have to take active steps to demonstrate they too are doing all they can to meet the exepectations of today's managements and consumers.

How green is your business?
All providers of logistics services will be in the front line of pressure to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. By using our consultancy service, we can help employers to develop and implement an effective carbon management plan to record and reduce CO2 emissions. We can also train your drivers and staff to understand the problems and show them how to improve their driving skills and practices to help them drive in a fuel efficient way which has been proven to save fuel and reduce emissions, and which in turn will save you money. We can also show your teams how to undertake better journey planning which will add even further savings and keep your business competitive.
